Five Star Interiors Welcomes Florida Native Rose Brasgalla to the Five Star Team

Five Star Interiors has seen tremendous growth in 2016 allowing operations to return to the booming Florida market. In order to provide the highest level of customer service to our builders, Five Star has hired Rose Brasgalla to serve as an in-state representative and liaison of the firm to serve our growing Florida client base.

Ms. Brasgalla brings us a wealth of experience as a senior-level executive in the housing industry. As the director of neighborhood development and design for one of the largest and most successful home builders in US history, Centex Homes, Ms. Brasgalla was responsible for the development of over 200 model homes, sales centers and amenity centers. As the decision-maker for everything concerning neighborhood and product price points, specifications, aesthetics, and design, she directed all model-merchandising in markets spanning from Pasco County to Naples for over 20 years. A strong foundation in construction and purchasing management as well as product development and design made this possible.

Five Star Interiors was the preferred designer for models and amenity centers locally and nation-wide allowing Centex to win numerous awards. The new relationship between Five Star and Rose Brasgalla offers builders a unique opportunity to partner with an interior design firm that knows the Florida building and development industry from the inside out. Common builder/designer challenges in specification choices, options, communication, scheduling, etc. are eliminated. Local market and construction expertise paired with Five Star’s award-winning design talent is definitely a winning combination!

Five Star is thrilled to have Rose Brasgalla represent our firm and service our valued Florida-area home builders. We look forward to the continued success of this partnership and the stunning models to come!

Five Star Interiors Celebrates Two Wins at the 2016 MAX Awards

The Five Star trophy case is growing! We recently received not one, but two brand new additions. Home builders and industry professionals gathered at the J.W. Marriott in downtown Austin earlier this month to recognize the outstanding achievements in Marketing, Advertising, and Product Excellence. Five Star Interiors was thrilled to be awarded the 2016 MAX Award for Best Interior Merchandising in the $600-$750 and $750-$999 categories.

Partners in Building’s contemporary Model Home in Rancho Sienna brought home the MAX Award for the $600-$750 category. This model is packed with unique elements including a floor to ceiling wine display in the formal dining and intricate ceiling details throughout the main living area and master suite. The HBA Judges were not the only ones who were wowed by this impressive model. Buyers loved this product and design showcasing Partner’s in Building’s innovative plans and quality.

The $750-$999 MAX Award went to yet another Partners in Building model home located in the Canyons of Lake Travis community. This model showcases bold finishes and custom cabinetry throughout the nearly 5000sqft design. Soft neutrals and teal accents bring balance to the furnishings creating a sophisticated and welcoming ambiance. Wood casing along the columns in the family room create a unique separation between spaces offering a modern twist on the open concept layout. This stunning model also won a Silver award at the Nationals Sales and Marketing Awards in Las Vegas last February.

Five Star Interiors was honored to be recognized for both of these incredible model homes. Celebrating in the success of these communities is the ultimate reward behind every model home design. The Five Star team is overjoyed to see the success that Partners in Building has seen in their Central Texas communities and is ready to make room in the trophy case for more award winning projects in 2016!

Upon graduating from Texas State University with a Bachelors degree in Interior Design, Jessica joined Five Star Interiors as a project designer. Eager to learn and begin her career in the home building industry, Jessica’s passion for design gave her the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a variety of areas throughout the company. Jessica’s talent and impeccable work ethic was quickly recognized allowing her to advance into a senior designer position.

Jessica spent over seven years with Five Star before she decided to expand her knowledge in the industry by accepting a position with Ashton Woods Homes as a Design Consultant. Through this position, Jessica worked hand in hand with new home buyers assisting them in choosing both interior and exterior selections for their new home. From flooring to paint colors, light fixtures to kitchen cabinets, Jessica made sure that her client’s selections represented their unique personality.

    •    Exterior water features create a tranquil setting leading up to the entrance of the home
    •    Bring the outdoors in with stone accents and flourishing florals
    •    Light up the room. Modern linear fire features serve as a focal point providing warmth that you can see and feel

Our Light Bulb Moment
    •    Make the most out of natural light using glass sliding doors leading to exterior entertaining areas
    •    Layers of light. Showcase lighting for artwork, mood lighting in the master suite and formal dining, recessed shelve lighting highlighting built-in accessories and architectural character.

Every Penny Counts
    •    Put your money where your life is. Utilize the bulk of your budget towards the main living areas and master bedroom.
    •    Save your dollars in the secondary spaces of the home that will not be used as frequently
    •    The kitchen and master bath are the top two areas of the home that provide the most return on investment. Use your upgrade dollars in these areas to get the most bang for your buck.

Our Favorite Takeaway
    •    Don't' forget about your four legged friend! Incorporating dog-friendly spaces into your new home is going to be big in 2016. Many floor plans we're seeing include a dog-wash station adjacent to the laundry room for a quick and easy clean up after a hard day of playing.

Five Star Interiors Takes Gold at The Nationals

It is arguably the most anticipated event of the year in the Homebuilding industry. The Nationals welcomed a sold-out crowd of home building professionals this past January in fabulous Las Vegas to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of industry leaders in sales and marketing. Having been the recipient of numerous regional awards over the years, Five Star Interiors President Ellen Weese was elated to hear that her firm was nominated for not one but two Gold awards in model home merchandising.

Five Star brought home Silver in the $750,000 to $1Million category for their soft contemporary designs featured in the Partners in Building model home at the Canyons at Lakes Travis. With four bedrooms, a formal dining room, gourmet chef’s kitchen, and nearly 5000sq.ft. of living space to be furnished the Five Star team brought their A-game showcasing their talent and market expertise in the design of this exquisite model home. The color pallet features a transitional variety of heavily textured neutrals complimented by teal accents and warm wood tones throughout. Intricate tile details and custom cabinetry showcased in the main living area add sophistication to the space that will show brilliantly through the ever changing seasons of interior design trends. Being recognized as a finalist in such a competitive category was an unbelievable honor, however it was the results of the $1Million to $1.5Million category that floored the Five Star team.

Nestled in the thriving city of Sugar Land, Texas, The Enclave at Riverstone is a pristine community that can be described by no other word than immaculate. This community boasts resort style amenities along with some of the most elegant and awe-inspiring home designs in the greater Houston area. It was in this vibrant community that Five Star Interiors received the privilege of providing the interior design for Newmark Homes’ stunning 6500sq.ft. model home and winning the Gold Award for best interior merchandising in the $1Million-$1.5Million category at The Nationals Sales and Marketing Awards.

The win came as both a surprise and an honor as they were up against the some of the most prestigious design firms in the nation. The Five Star team utilized their talents to their fullest potential and were rewarded for their outstanding efforts. The designers challenged themselves creatively searching for new ideas and pulled out all the stops for this elaborate model home with the mindset that no detail was too small to be overlooked. The end product - innovative designs and show-stopping finishes.

The lighting selections throughout this model stole the show. What Five Star lovingly refers to as “the  jewelry of the home” served as the ultimate accessory highlighting the elaborate ceiling details that were added into the central gathering areas of the home. Each fixture was hand-selected from a custom lighting specialist boasting modern designs that are both eye-catching and inspiring. The multi-dimensional fixtures served as a focal point for the space creating interest and leading the buyer’s eye up reinforcing both the dramatic ceiling heights and quality craftsmanship of the home.

Each selection was meticulously thought through paying homage to the remarkable architecture of the home. From the marble flooring throughout the main floor to the two story master closet, every room in this 5 bedroom model boasts creativity and class. Five Star was honored to be a part of creating this phenomenal model home and celebrates the award winning success that Newmark Homes has seen in this community.

Five Star Interiors was humbled with the incredible honor of being named one of the nation’s leading design firms. With the high of the win still fresh in the minds of all who contributed to this incredible project and the goal of repeating history in 2016, let the anticipation for next year begin!
